The government of Portugal has notified the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) of an incident involving a Boeing 777 airplane that occurred on January 13, 2016. The notification was made under the provisions of ICAO Annex 13.
NTSB Involvement
In response, the NTSB has appointed a U.S. Accredited Representative to assist the government of Portugal's investigation. This appointment is in the capacity of the State of Manufacturer and Design of the airplane.
Information Release
All investigative information pertaining to this incident will be released by the government of Portugal. The NTSB will defer to Portuguese authorities for any updates or findings.
