Incident Notification
On February 10, 2016, an incident occurred involving a Boeing 777-200 in the Dominican Republic. The Comisión Investigadora de Accidentes de Aviación (CIAA) of the Dominican Republic, the authority responsible for aviation accident investigation, notified the United States National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) of the event.
NTSB Involvement
In accordance with the provisions of ICAO Annex 13, which governs international cooperation in aircraft accident and incident investigations, the NTSB appointed a U.S. Accredited Representative. This representative will assist the CIAA's investigation, as the United States is the State of Design and Manufacture of the Boeing 777-200.
Investigative Authority
The CIAA retains full authority over the investigation. All investigative information will be released by the CIAA. No further details regarding the nature of the incident, aircraft registration, location, injuries, or damage have been disclosed in the notification.
