What happened
On March 7, 2016, at approximately 1410 UTC, a Piper PA28-140, registration ZS-EXV, was destroyed after impacting terrain while attempting an emergency landing at Mountain View Airfield (FAMV) in Johannesburg, South Africa.
The flight originated from Lanseria International Airport (FALA) with the intention of traveling to Wonderboom Airport (FAWB). During the flight, the crew attempted to reach Mountain View Airfield for an emergency landing. The accident resulted in 2 fatal injuries for the pilot and the passenger.
