Notification and International Cooperation
On March 13, 2016, an accident involving an Airbus A320-233 occurred. The Dirección General de Aviación Civil (DGAC) of Mexico notified the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) of the accident. Under the provisions of ICAO Annex 13, the NTSB designated a U.S. Accredited Representative to assist the DGAC investigation, as the United States is the State of Manufacture and Design of the engine.
Investigative Authority
The DGAC of Mexico, through its Dirección de Analisis de Accidentes e Incidentes de Aviación, is leading the investigation. The NTSB is providing support in its capacity as the representative of the engine's state of design.
