Incident Notification
The Bahamas Department of Civil Aviation's Air Accident Investigation & Prevention Unit (AAIPU) has formally notified the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) of an incident that occurred on March 25, 2016, involving an Embraer EMB 190 aircraft.
International Cooperation
In accordance with the provisions of ICAO Annex 13, which governs international aviation accident investigations, the NTSB has appointed a U.S. Accredited Representative to assist the AAIPU in its investigation. This appointment is standard procedure when the United States is the State of the Operator.
Investigative Authority
The AAIPU, as the investigating authority in the Bahamas, will be responsible for releasing all investigative information related to this incident. The NTSB is participating in a supporting role as per international protocols.
