What happened
On April 7, 2016, at approximately 1200 UTC, a Douglas DC3-C, registration HK2663, was performing an initial climb from Puerto Gaitan Airport (SKPG) in Puerto Gaitan, Colombia. During this phase of flight, the aircraft experienced a loss of power in the left engine.
The crew subsequently performed a forced landing into a field. Following the impact, a post-impact fire occurred. The two pilots and one crewmember were able to evacuate the aircraft before it was destroyed by the fire. All three occupants sustained minor injuries.
