Accident Sequence
According to the pilot's report, the airplane encountered a sudden wind shift during the landing flare. This caused the right wing to rise, and the airplane bounced upon touchdown. The pilot then applied full power to abort the landing and became airborne. During the subsequent initial climb, the airplane continued to veer to the left despite the pilot's application of full aileron to the right. As a result, the left wing impacted terrain, and the airplane cartwheeled to a stop adjacent to the runway.
Damage
