Incident Overview
A pilot reported that during the landing on a wet grass runway, the airplane touched down long. After touchdown, the airplane skidded approximately 200 feet and the pilot was unable to reduce its speed. The airplane subsequently overran the end of the runway and struck a fence located about 20 feet beyond the runway's end. The collision resulted in substantial damage to the firewall.
Pilot Report
The pilot did not report any mechanical malfunctions or failures that would have precluded normal operation of the airplane. Following the incident, the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) investigator-in-charge made multiple requests for the pilot to submit the NTSB Form 6120.1 Pilot/Operator Aircraft Accident/Incident Report. The pilot failed to submit the required report.
Damage
The only damage reported was substantial damage to the firewall as a result of the fence strike. No other damage was described in the source.
