Incident Overview
A pilot reported that during the approach to land, the airplane was positioned left of the extended runway centerline on short final approach. The pilot decided to execute a go-around.
Sequence of Events
When the pilot added engine power for the go-around, the airplane veered to the left, pitched up, and subsequently stalled. The airplane then impacted the ground.
Damage
The accident resulted in substantial damage to the fuselage and the empennage.
Pilot Statement
The pilot added that there were no preaccident mechanical failures or malfunctions with the airplane that would have precluded normal operation.
