Accident Overview
On July 1, 2016, at approximately 1445 Coordinated Universal Time, a Piper PA-28-140 airplane, registration C-GNUC, operated by a private pilot, was destroyed when it collided with terrain shortly after takeoff from Winnipeg Lyncrest Airport near Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. The pilot and one passenger sustained fatal injuries. The flight had originated from Winnipeg Lyncrest Airport.
