What happened
On July 16, 2016, at approximately 1240 UTC, a Robinson R2 2 Beta helicopter, registered EC-IGG, crashed into the Valmayor Reservoir near Valdemorillo, Madrid, Spain. The flight had originated from the Cuatro Vientos Airport (LECU) in Madrid.
Witnesses at the scene reported that the aircraft became entangled with a power line prior to the impact. The accident resulted in 2 fatal injuries for the pilot and one passenger on board. The aircraft sustained substantial damage during the event.
