Accident Details
On September 3, 2016, at approximately 1530 Pacific daylight time, a Bell 206B helicopter, Canadian registration C-FWHF, impacted terrain following a loss of engine power. The accident occurred during a visual approach to landing about 58 miles east of Williams Lake, British Columbia, Canada. The flight had originated from a remote helipad located 58 miles east of Williams Lake.
Aircraft and Operator
The helicopter was registered to and operated by Far West Helicopters Ltd. It sustained substantial damage in the impact. The pilot, who was the sole occupant, sustained serious injuries.
Investigation
The Transportation Safety Board (TSB) of Canada is investigating the accident. As the State of Manufacturer of the helicopter and engine, the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has designated a U.S. accredited representative to assist the TSB in its investigation.
