What happened
On September 4, 2016, at approximately 1600 Atlantic Daylight Time, a Bell 206B helicopter, registration C-GVJT, was performing a cross-country flight from Charlo Airport (CYCL) in Charlo, New Brunswick, to Rivière-du-Loup Airport (CYRI) in Québec. During the cruise phase of the flight, the aircraft collided with power lines.
Following the collision, the helicopter crashed into the Restigouche River near Flatlands, New Brunswick. The accident resulted in 2 fatalities and 1 minor injury.
