What happened
On September 5, 2016, at approximately 15:20 mountain daylight time, a Bell 206B helicopter, registered as C-GHHU, crashed into terrain about 12 miles southwest of Fox Creek, Alberta, Canada. The aircraft, operated by Ridge Rotacy Inc., was conducting an aerial survey flight when it experienced a power loss.
The flight had originated from Whitecourt Airport in Whitecourt, Alberta, with the intention of returning to the same location. The impact with the terrain caused substantial damage to the helicopter. Of the three people on board, there was 1 fatal injury, 1 serious injury, and 1 minor injury.
