Incident Overview
According to the pilot's report, a tailwheel-equipped biplane experienced an incident during a landing on a grass airstrip. The aircraft touched down long, and its landing gear subsequently contacted the edge of an intersecting asphalt runway. This contact caused the biplane to become airborne again.
Aborted Landing and Impact
After becoming airborne, the pilot decided to abort the landing. During the aborted landing, the biplane struck the top of a tree or trees. The aircraft then descended and touched down on an adjacent golf course.
Damage Assessment
The biplane sustained substantial damage to both left wing struts as a result of the event.

The pilot reported that there were no pre-impact mechanical failures or malfunctions with the airframe or engine that would have precluded normal operation.
