Accident Summary
A pilot reported that during a landing on a private 2,000-foot grass airstrip, the airplane touched down at the usual go-around point shortly after rain. The pilot stated that a slight tailwind was present. Applying the brakes did not slow the airplane on the wet grass, prompting the pilot to add full power to abort the landing.
Event Sequence
The airplane became airborne and cleared some plastic barrels located north of the airstrip. However, the right wing subsequently collided with other farm equipment. The airplane then impacted the terrain, sustaining substantial damage to both wings, the fuselage, and the empennage.
Pilot Statement
The pilot reported that there were no pre-impact mechanical failures or malfunctions with the airframe or engine that would have precluded normal operation.
