Incident Overview
On September 9, 2017, at 1918 local time, a Piper PA-28-161 with Spanish registration EC-JCI was taxiing at Sevilla Airport in Sevilla, Spain, when a brake failure occurred. The aircraft departed the taxiway as a direct result of the brake failure. Subsequently, a fire broke out on the right main landing gear and wing. The airplane sustained substantial damage.
