What happened
On October 17, 2016, at approximately 2200 UTC, an AeroFab, Inc. Lake-250, registration N724ST, was performing an approach to Gregorio Luperón International Airport (POP) in Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic. During the approach, the aircraft impacted the ocean, resulting in 3 fatal injuries. The occupants included the pilot and two passengers.
The investigation
The investigation into the accident falls under the jurisdiction of the Government of the Dominican Republic, specifically the Comisión Investigadora de Accidentes de Aviación of the Junta de Aviación Civil.
