Incident Overview
On November 14, 2016, at 0230 universal coordinated time, a Robinson R-66 helicopter, registered ZK-HAG, operated by Heliops Southland Limited under New Zealand regulations, was substantially damaged after colliding with terrain near Winton, New Zealand. The pilot was not injured.
Sequence of Events
The helicopter was conducting a spraying run when, after turning downwind, a low rotor RPM warning activated. Following the warning, the helicopter collided with terrain.

The aircraft was a Robinson R-66, registration ZK-HAG. The operator was Heliops Southland Limited.
