Accident
On November 23, 2016, at approximately 1410 universal coordinated time, an Ayres S2-R agricultural aircraft, United States registration N5532G, was destroyed when it impacted mountainous terrain near Paso Internacional Los Libertadores, Chile. The pilot was fatally injured.
The flight originated from Comodoro Arturo Merino Benítez International Airport (SCEL) in Pudahuel, Chile, and was destined for Rosario-Islas Malvinas International Airport (SAAR) in Santa Fe, Argentina.
Investigation
The investigation into the accident is under the jurisdiction of the Government of Chile. The Directorate General of Civil Aeronautics, through its Analysis Office, is responsible for the inquiry.
