Accident Details
On February 19, 2017, at 0930 local time, a McDonnell Douglas Hughes 369E helicopter, registered ZK-HRK, collided with a ridgeline in the Waimarino Forest near Raetihi, New Zealand. The helicopter was operated by Precision Helicopters Ltd. and was conducting an external load operation at the time of the accident. The flight was being conducted in accordance with the pertinent civil regulations of the government of New Zealand.

The helicopter sustained substantial damage. The pilot, who was the sole occupant of the aircraft, was seriously injured.
