What happened
On February 20, 2017, at approximately 1225 UTC, a Piper PA-28-161, registered F-OGPJ, was performing a low-altitude cruise flight near Petit Bourg, Guadeloupe. The flight, operated by Les Ailes Guadeloupeenes, had originated from Pointe-a-Pitre Le Raizet Airport in Grande-Terre, Guadeloupe. During the flight, the aircraft collided with a house. The accident resulted in 1 fatality and the destruction of the airplane.
At the time of the accident, weather conditions were characterized by visual meteorological conditions (VMC) with a visibility of 6 statute miles and winds from 110 degrees at 6 knots.
