ATSB Notifies NTSB of 2017 Saab 340B Incident

Incident Notification and International Cooperation On March 17, 2017, an incident involving a Saab 340B aircraft occurred. The Australian Transport Safety Bureau (ATSB) subsequently notified the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) of the event. In accordance with ICAO Annex 13, the NTSB appointed a U.S. Accredited Representative to assist the ATSB with its investigation. This appointment was made because the United States is the state of design and manufacture for the airplane's engines. The ATSB remains the lead investigative authority and is responsible for releasing all investigative information related to the incident.
