What happened
On May 18, 2017, at 18:40 UTC, a Cessna 182P, registration PZ-VAC, was performing a flight from Kwamalasoemoetoe Airport (SMSM) in Sipaliwini, Suriname, to Zorg en Hoop Airfield (SMZO) in Paramaribo, Suriname. During the flight, the aircraft suffered an uncontained engine failure.
The pilot subsequently performed a forced landing in Poesoegroenoe, Suriname. The aircraft sustained minor damage during the landing. All three occupants—the pilot and two passengers—were not injured.
