What happened
On June 1, 2017, at 1824 UTC, a Piper PA-28-140, bearing registration TG-GYV, crashed into mountainous terrain near Volcán de Agua in the Department of Sacatepéquez, Guatemala. The flight was traveling from San José, Guatemala, toward its destination of Cuidad, Guatemala.
The impact destroyed the aircraft. The instructor pilot sustained 1 fatal injury, while the injuries sustained by the student pilot remain unknown.
