Accident Overview
On June 2, 2017, at 2113 coordinated universal time, a Lake LA-4-200 Buccaneer, registration C-GZSW, was destroyed when it impacted terrain after takeoff from Muskoka Airport (CYQA) in Muskoka, Ontario, Canada. The flight was destined to the same airport.
Sequence of Events
After takeoff, the pilot attempted to return to the airport. During the maneuver, the airplane entered a left turn and subsequently impacted terrain on a highway. The impact resulted in the destruction of the aircraft.
Occupants and Injuries
The pilot and one passenger were on board. Both sustained fatal injuries as a result of the accident.
