Accident Details
A pilot reported that during the landing roll of a tailwheel-equipped airplane, the right wing lifted approximately 4 to 5 feet. The airplane then pivoted on the left landing gear. After the airplane settled back onto the runway, the pilot applied brakes, and the airplane nosed over.
Aircraft Damage
The airplane sustained substantial damage to the fuselage and right wing. The pilot stated that there were no preaccident mechanical failures or malfunctions that would have precluded normal operation.
Weather Conditions
An automated weather observation station at the accident airport recorded, about 12 minutes after the accident, wind from 210° at 4 knots. The airplane had landed on runway 11.
