Accident Description
A pilot flying a tailwheel-equipped airplane reported that during the landing roll, the aircraft veered to the left and departed the runway. The pilot stated that he applied full power and "managed to maneuver the plane out of the ground loop but started taking out runway lights" while steering back toward the runway.
During the maneuver, the airplane impacted a runway light and two taxiway signs, causing damage to the main landing gear. The airplane then "flew over the runway" before landing again, at which point the main landing gear collapsed.
Damage
The airplane sustained substantial damage to the fuselage and the left wing lift struts.
Pilot Report
The pilot reported that there were no preaccident mechanical failures or malfunctions with the airplane that would have precluded normal operation.
