What happened
On August 2, 2017, at approximately 2115 UTC, a Robinson R44 helicopter, registration XB-MWZ, experienced a loss of engine power while operating near Puerto Chiapas, Mexico. The aircraft, which had originated its flight from a local fishing vessel, impacted the Pacific Ocean.
There were two people on board the aircraft at the time of the accident. The crash resulted in 1 fatality and 1 person uninjured.
