What happened
On September 3, 2017, at approximately 10:30 UTC, a Cessna 182P, registration I-SCAP, crashed into terrain shortly after takeoff from Pegaso Club 2000 Airfield in Pontinia, Italy. The aircraft was performing an initial climb when the impact occurred.
The aircraft was destroyed by the forces of the impact and a subsequent post-crash fire. There were five people on board the aircraft, consisting of one pilot and four skydivers. The accident resulted in 2 fatalities, 1 serious injury, and 2 minor injuries.
