NTSB Appoints Representative for 2017 Boeing 737 Incident in Brazil

Incident Notification and International Cooperation The government of Brazil notified the U.S. National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) of an incident involving a Boeing 737 aircraft that occurred on November 22, 2017. In response, the NTSB appointed a U.S. Accredited Representative to support the Brazilian government's investigation. This appointment was made in accordance with the provisions of ICAO Annex 13, which governs international cooperation in aviation accident and incident investigations. ## Information Release All investigative information related to the incident is to be released by CENIPA, the Brazilian authority responsible for the investigation. The NTSB's role is limited to providing assistance through its accredited representative, with the lead investigation remaining under the jurisdiction of the Brazilian government.
