NTSB Assists Dominican Republic Investigation of Cessna A188 Accident

Notification and Assistance Role on December 23, 2017, the government of the Dominican Republic notified the U.S. National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) of an accident involving a Cessna A188 airplane. The notification initiated the process for international cooperation in the investigation of the event. In response to the notification, the NTSB appointed a U.S. Accredited Representative to assist the government of the Dominican Republic with its investigation. This appointment was made in accordance with the provisions of ICAO Annex 13, which governs the investigation of aircraft accidents and incidents. The NTSB's role was limited to providing assistance to the lead investigating authority, which was the government of the Dominican Republic. All investigative information related to the accident is to be released by the government of the Dominican Republic.
