Incident Overview
On July 22, 2017, during morning hours, a pilot decided to conduct a taxi lesson with a student in a Cessna 152 at the aerodrome in Biała Podlaska. While taxiing on the connector between the aeroclub building and the runway, the aircraft's side collided with an entering passenger car. The accident resulted in damage to the rear of the airplane, specifically the left side of the horizontal stabilizer.
Response and Findings
Police were called to the scene. Breathalyzer tests revealed that the pilot had an above-normal blood alcohol concentration. In accordance with protocol, the State Commission on Aircraft Accident Investigation (PKBWL) decided to discontinue the investigation into the aviation event due to the pilot's intoxication.
Damage and Occupants
The aircraft sustained structural damage to its tail section. The two occupants—the pilot and the student—were reported without injuries. The car's occupants' status was not specified in the report.
