What happened
On February 2, 2018, at approximately 0145 UTC, a Robinson R-44 helicopter, registered as C-GYMG, crashed in a field located in St-Joachim-de-Courval, Quebec, Canada. The aircraft was performing a non-scheduled, personal cross-country flight from St-George-de-Beauce, Quebec, toward St-Felix-de-Valois, Quebec.
Following the impact, a fire occurred. The pilot and two passengers sustained 3 fatal injuries. The helicopter was destroyed in the accident. The flight was operating under night visual meteorological conditions.
