Incident Overview

A commercial pilot reported that during a personal flight at night, he was executing an instrument landing system (ILS) approach. After disconnecting the autopilot at 1,500 ft mean sea level (MSL), he had the runway in sight by 1,000 ft MSL. The pilot continued the approach, but the airplane crossed the runway threshold too high and too fast.

Landing Sequence
