What happened

On March 1, 2018, a TEZ Jet LLC Avro RJ85 was performing a climb when it experienced an uncontained turbine failure in the number one (leftmost) engine. The aircraft, registered as EX-27005, was powered by four Honeywell LF507-1F turbofan engines.

Following the engine failure, the crew returned the aircraft to Bishkek-Manas International Airport (BQK) in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. The aircraft completed a landing using the remaining three engines without further incident. There were no injuries resulting from the event.
