What happened
On March 8, 2018, an American Champion 8GCBC, registration N105BH, was performing a landing in Many, Louisiana. During the landing sequence, the pilot applied the brakes with too much force, causing the tailwheel-equipped aircraft to nose over. The aircraft sustained substantial damage to its fuselage. There were no injuries reported in the accident.
The investigation
The pilot indicated that there were no mechanical failures or malfunctions occurring prior to the accident that would have prevented the aircraft from operating normally.
