Incident Overview
The pilot reported that after taxiing to the ramp, he set the parking brake. Subsequently, he released the foot brake, and the airplane began to roll forward. The aircraft then impacted a pole, resulting in substantial damage to the right wing.
Post-Accident Inspection
The Flight Safety Officer stated that there were no preaccident mechanical failures or malfunctions with the airplane that would have precluded normal operation. After the accident, the officer verified the proper operation of the parking brake.
Damage Assessment
The right wing of the airplane sustained substantial damage in the collision with the pole.
