Incident Overview
On May 4, 2018, an incident occurred involving a Boeing 737-300 aircraft in South Africa. The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) of South Africa was notified and subsequently informed the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) of the United States. The CAA has not released additional details regarding the incident at this time.
Investigation Participation
The NTSB has appointed a U.S. Accredited Representative to assist the CAA investigation. This appointment is made under the provisions of ICAO Annex 13, which designates the NTSB as the State of Manufacturer and Design of the airplane.
Information Release
The CAA of South Africa will be the authority responsible for releasing all investigative information regarding this incident.
