Incident Overview
A pilot flying a tailwheel-equipped airplane performed a wheel landing. During the landing roll, the airplane veered to the left when the tailwheel contacted the runway. The aircraft subsequently exited the left side of the runway at an estimated speed of 15 knots. After leaving the runway, the airplane impacted bushes and nosed over.
Aircraft Damage
The accident resulted in substantial damage to the fuselage, both wings, the vertical stabilizer, and the rudder.
Pilot Report
The pilot stated that there were no mechanical malfunctions or failures with the airplane that would have precluded normal operation. The pilot did not report any other anomalies or contributing factors.
