Accident Details
The pilot reported that during landing, the airplane touched down to the right of the runway centerline. Subsequently, the airplane veered off the runway to the left. As a result of the excursion, the nose wheel separated from the aircraft and a propeller strike occurred.
Aircraft Damage
The manufacturer confirmed that the airplane sustained substantial damage to the lower firewall, which mates with the lower engine mount. No other damage items were specified.
Pilot Report
The pilot stated that there were no preaccident mechanical failures or malfunctions with the airplane that would have precluded normal operation. The pilot did not submit the National Transportation Safety Board Pilot/Operator Aircraft Accident/Incident Report Form 6120.1.
