Incident Overview
A pilot reported that after touchdown, oscillations began in their tailwheel-equipped airplane. The aircraft subsequently exited the runway to the right, leading to a ground loop in the same direction. During the ground loop, the left main landing gear collapsed, and the left wing struck the ground.
Aircraft Damage
The airplane sustained substantial damage to the left wing. The extent of the damage was consistent with the impact forces encountered during the ground loop.
Pilot Report
The pilot stated that there were no preaccident mechanical failures or malfunctions with the airplane that would have precluded normal operation. No other contributing factors were mentioned in the report.
