Incident Overview
According to the pilot's report, the landing approach was steeper than usual, and the aircraft touched down approximately two-thirds of the runway length from the approach end at a speed higher than anticipated. Upon touchdown, the pilot applied full braking power, but the aircraft was unable to stop before the runway ended.
Sequence of Events
The aircraft overran the runway and traveled across an adjacent road. During this traverse, it briefly became airborne before making a hard touchdown in a field covered with heavy vegetation. The aircraft came to rest in an upright position in the field.
Aircraft Damage
The left wing of the aircraft sustained substantial damage during the incident.
Pilot Report on Mechanical Condition
The pilot stated that there were no preaccident mechanical failures or malfunctions with the aircraft that would have prevented normal operation.
