Accident Details
The pilot of a tundra tire, tailwheel-equipped airplane reported that while landing off airport on a gravel bar, he applied the brakes too aggressively. This caused the tail of the aircraft to lift, and the airplane subsequently flipped over. The landing surface was a gravel bar, a common natural terrain feature for off-airport operations.
