What happened
On August 1, 2018, at 13:36 mountain daylight time, a Piper PA-31, registration C-FNCI, crashed into terrain approximately 35 miles southwest of Calgary, Alberta. The aircraft, operated by Aries Aviation Services Corp., was traveling from Penticton Regional Airport (CYYF) in British Columbia to Calgary Springbank Airport (CYBY).
The impact with the terrain caused substantial damage to the aircraft. The pilot and the sole passenger sustained 2 fatal injuries.
