What happened
On August 31, 2018, at approximately 1700 UTC, an amateur-built Aero Designs Pulsar 1 was landing at Sturgate Airfield (EGCS) near Heapham, Lincolnshire. During the landing phase, the aircraft, registration G-LUED, overran the runway. The impact of the overrun caused the aircraft to nose-over, resulting in substantial damage to the airframe.
The pilot and passenger were not injured during the event. The weather conditions at the time of the accident were Visual Meteorological Conditions (VMC).
