Incident Overview
On September 4, 2018, an aviation accident occurred involving a Piper PA-28R airplane within the jurisdiction of Spain. The event was formally reported to international aviation authorities following standard notification procedures.
International Cooperation
The government of Spain officially notified the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) regarding the incident. In response to this notification, the NTSB appointed a U.S. Accredited Representative. This appointment was made to facilitate assistance to the Spanish investigation team in accordance with the provisions outlined in ICAO Annex 13.
