Incident Overview
On September 12, 2018, at 2110 coordinated universal time, a Gulfstream GIV business jet, registration 5N-BOD, experienced a runway excursion at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport (DNAA) in Abuja, Nigeria. The aircraft involved was operated under the pertinent civil regulations of the Government of Nigeria. Neither the flight crew nor the passenger sustained injuries, and the airplane itself was not damaged during the event.
Investigation
The Nigerian Accident Investigation Bureau (AIB) has initiated an investigation into the incident. As the state of manufacture of the aircraft, the U.S. National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has designated a U.S. accredited representative to assist the AIB in its inquiry. All further inquiries regarding this incident should be directed to the AIB at its headquarters in Ikeja, Lagos, Nigeria.
