Accident Details
On October 1, 2018, at an undetermined time, a Robinson R-44-II helicopter, registered as RA-05758, was involved in an accident near Bodaybo, Russia. The aircraft first impacted water and sank before subsequently colliding with a power transmission line. The pilot and one passenger were on board and sustained fatal injuries.
Investigation
The Interstate Aviation Committee (IAC) of Russia is conducting the investigation into the accident. As the state of manufacture of the helicopter and engine, the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has designated a U.S. accredited representative to assist the IAC in its investigation.
