Incident Notification
The Brazilian National Center for Investigation and Prevention of Aeronautical Accidents (CENIPA) formally notified the United States National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) regarding an aviation incident. The event involved a Boeing 777 aircraft and occurred on December 20, 2018.
International Cooperation
In accordance with ICAO Annex 13 regulations, the NTSB appointed a U.S. Accredited Representative to support CENIPA’s investigation. This role is designated for the State of Manufacturer, ensuring technical assistance and coordination between the two agencies during the inquiry process.
Information Release Protocol
All investigative data and final findings related to this incident are under the exclusive jurisdiction of CENIPA. The Brazilian authority retains responsibility for the official release of all relevant information to the public and interested parties.
